‘The Junket’ Lands Top Tier Sound House

It’s with great pleasure I announce the illustrious Groove Q have joined The Junket for Music Composition and Sound Design. Their film scores have featured at Cannes Film Festival (Still Life), Berlin International Film Festival (The Wilding) and Sydney Film Festival. They’ve won countless awards at Tropfest, Promax and for their vast TV and experimental work including Burning Man. I can’t wait for them to bring their sonic wizardry to The Junket, a film deeply rooted in sound design.

Sarah Krndija cast in ‘The Junket’

Sarah will bring the character of Olivia Sorkin to life in The Junket. Olivia is a bored Hollywood superstar with some clandestine hobbies.

Sarah’s formal training took place at Screen Actor’s Australia (2003-2009), before graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music Theatre from the Victorian College of the Arts.
During her time at the VCA, Sarah played the coveted roles of Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (dir. Gary Young), Sheila in A Chorus Line (dir. Tyran Parke) and Abigail Williams in The Crucible (dir. Danielle Carter). Sarah’s theatre and film credits include: Paper Cut – TROPFEST finalist (dir. Virginia Gay), Olesya (lead) in the ADG & AWG Nominated film Something Has Died In The Forest.
Melbourne Theatre Company’s Vivid White (dir. Dean Bryant), Assistant Director on Pursued by Bear’s production of Ordinary Days (Green Room Award – Best Direction), Margo in Bright

Cameron Hutt cast in ‘The Junket’

Born and raised in Sydney, Cameron Hutt has been an actor for nearly 10 years. He studied abroad at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and has received rave reviews for his performances in Pride & Predjudice, 4000 Miles and The Importance of Being Earnest.

Now he will bring the character of Stan to life in The Junket. Stan is a celebrity interviewer and self-assured jack of all trades. He’s got a large, barely concealed ego and a penchant for flirting.

Violet Simpson cast in ‘The Junket’

Violet Simpson is a Sydney based actor who’s performances range from stage to screen. Violet completed her theatre training at the Yale Summer Conservatory for Actors, and Anthony Meindl’s Actor Workshop, with additional technique training under Kevin Jackson, and Linklater voice training with Amy Hume. She is currently performing with the Spark Theatre Ensemble. Violet has also undergone screen training with both Les Chantery and Amy Kersey. She has worked on various short films in her screen career, spanning from horror, to drama, to comedy, including her role as The Waitress in director Landon Maxwell’s Extra Hot and Bothered

Violet will play Publicist to Olivia Sorkin, Hollywood star, in The Junket. Her character is a cattish enabler and co-conspirator who will turn on anyone to make the talent happy.

Writer/Director Sean Bell’s new project

Off the back of his last film F Meat (2x winner Best Australian Short, World Premier @ Fantasia Montreal) and ACRA win for Backyard Cricket with the Prime Minister with Nova Entertainment, Sean Bell is back with a new black comedy/horror film entitled The Junket.

Born in Oz, Sean Bell has enjoyed a successful career in TV and media, working for Foxtel, SBS, ABC, Ten, ITV, and Seven, countless ad agencies and production companies – and served as Head of Video at Nova Entertainment. He’s directed some of the biggest celebrities in the world, and made several independant films, winning awards and touring film festivals all over the world.

Celebrity interviewer and self-proclaimed feminist Stan hears something he shouldn’t when eavesdropping on Olivia Sorkin, the intimidating star of an upcoming vampire movie. She’s just taken a quick break in the middle of their chat, but left her microphone on. Stan decides to listen in, but he’s not the only one doing something clandestine.
